Bricolage Bombay is a Multidisciplinary Practice that explores Architecture,Design and Media. Founded by Vinit Nikumbh – it operates along with collaborators for specialized realms.We do projects that interest us and encourage our multidisciplinary approach. What is the kind of work we do?



We are dedicated to exploring ideas in Architecture by employing the mediums of films,games,digital media and virtual realities. Bricolage Bombay is dedicated towards incorporating these ideas in the design of commissioned projects. The visual ideas come from pop culture, internet art, parametric thinking and elegance of materials and textures.



Our Media practice tries to look at exploration of various mediums to read space and narrative. We have explored Short Animated Narratives, Virtual Reality for Retail, Graphic Novel based on the City  and  Public Art Installations.

About Vinit Nikumbh


Vinit Nikumbh is an Architect who also has an keen interest in Cinema and Design. He did his undergraduate studies from Mumbai, where he was an excellent student winning awards for his design dissertation from the National Council of Architecture India. He has done his Masters in Architecture and Media from Cornell University New York. His  work has won awards nationally like the MCHI Housing Design Competition and his work has been published and exhibited Internationally including at AIA New York. Vinit has been a design faculty at various Architecture Schools in Mumbai (Rizvi College of Architecture, Rachna Sansad, Balwant Seth School of Architecture, IES College of Architecture, and Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture) He has also worked with the Society for Enviornment and Architecture and The School of Environment and Architecture Borivali as one of its initial founding employees. Vinit has also worked with leading architects in Mumbai and New York.

Vinit was also selected as by the UDRI as a research fellow to work on issues of Urbanism in Mumbai. He conducted a study on the issues of Walkability and pedestrian access to important nodal transportation junctions in the city of Mumbai. The study culminated in a public presentation and a draft of pedestrian accessibility guidelines that could be addressed in the new development plan for the city.

He is the founder of  Bricolage Bombay . Bricolage Bombay is Collaborative studio that lies on the boundaries of Architecture and other Etceteras – Media, Design and Urbanism. Vinit is a registered architect with the Council of Architecture India. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Our Published Work 


Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industries (MCHI) organised this National level competition for designing a high-density urban housing typology for the Indian context.The project won the third prize – and was exhibited at MCHI Exhibitions in Mumbai. The Honourable Chief Minister and other dignitaries awarded the prize.


Exhibition of the work on URBAN Walkability at AIA New-York. The name of the show is Jugaad Urbanism.
